Announcement
Sale of 50.1% stake in worldwide conference portfolio to ITE Group plc, London
Global Pacific & Partners and GPP Energy Advisors Limited, the Board and Senior Partners of the firm, Duncan Clarke, Chairman, and Chief Executive Babette van Gessel, are pleased to announce the 50.1% sale of its worldwide conference portfolio to ITE Group plc, a major London-listed international events company with significant capacity in global oil and gas, to carry forward growth achieved over the last two decades for its conference suite in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The Senior Partners will operate in joint-venture with ITE Group, notably for the landmark Africa Oil Week/Africa Upstream Conference, to support and advise ITE plc on future growth opportunities for the acquired global conference portfolio, and act in close cooperation with ITE’s Chief Executive, Russell Taylor, and ITE Oil&Gas management, for the future development and growth of these legacy assets.
Paul Slight, Director, Fusion Corporate Partners (UK) Limited, acted as the Advisor on the transaction.
Our relationships with worldwide corporate clients and colleagues, and in the Africa Oil Week/Africa Upstream Conference, will continue, as with all sponsors and exhibitors, while our Johannesburg Conference Team will join ITE Group in-situ. Our firm will conduct its Scramble for Africa Strategy Briefing, host the PetroAfricanus Dinner in Africa and the Global Women Petroleum & Energy Club Luncheon at Africa Oil Week, and the Senior Partners will Chair the Conference, make Presentations, while managing the event for continued growth and excellence.
The 22nd Africa Oil Week/Africa Upstream Conference, with the 13th Africa Independents Forum, takes place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 26th-30th October 2015 at the CTICC, with over 100 speakers, 150+ Exhibitors, and around 1,600 delegates, as the landmark event in, on and for Africa.
Global Pacific & Partners’ worldwide practice, with three decades vintage, and operated from offices in The Hague and London, includes traditional advisory mandates, strategy briefings on Africa, Asia and Latin America, National Oil Companies and world upstream issues, providing Private Client News, business intelligence and research. The firm owns an exclusive portfolio of platforms, networks and technologies – the PetroAfricanus Club, the World Upstream Club, the African Institute of Petroleum, Global Women Petroleum & Energy Club, and International Licensing Association with Government Roadshows – dedicated to tailored strategies for the content-driven community of senior executives and leading state oil officials within the global oil, gas and energy industry.
