Greater Plutonio Hits Production Milestone

BP’s Angolan Block 18 development, the Greater Plutonio field, hit a milestone. The block has now produced its 500 millionth barrel of crude, according to daily newspaper Jornal de Angola.

Located offshore Angola in water depths ranging from 1,200 and 1,600 meters, the Greater Plutonio came onstream in 2007 utilizing 24 production wells, 22 water injection wells, and three gas injection wells. The development currently produces at a rate of 165,000 bpd.
