A rocket propelled grenade (RPG) targeted Telecom Egypt’s satellites in Cairo’s partly oil expat suburb of Maadi, waking residents around 4:30 am. At the same time, a quarry in a neighboring area carried out two scheduled controlled detonations of a large surface. Reports say that there was limited damages and no casualties, but this is another example of continued instability in the North African country.
An oil security source told Petroleum Africa that this could mean the blasts – the RPG and quarry were coordinated.
