ICJ Gives Kenya December Date to Counter Somalia

Wednesday, February 8, 2017

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has given the government of Kenya until mid-December to file a ‘counter-memorial’ in the case regarding the maritime border between it and Somalia.

The court had recently ruled that a filing by Somalia for it to hear the case had merit and the ICJ had jurisdiction to adjudicate the dispute.

The subsequent procedure has been reserved for further decision.
