Monday, February 3, 2014

More of Nigerian crude is expected to be exported to India over 2014 according to BusinessDay Research and Intelligent Unit (BRUI). Predictions put India’s import of Nigeria crude to grow by 26% or 116.8 million barrels.

The increased imports by India are to aid in meeting the nation’s ever increasing energy needs, which is expected to grow by 3% in 2014.

State-run NNPC’s quarterly information showed that through Q3 2014 India held the top spot of Nigeria crude oil imports. The first three quarters saw 73.12 million barrels, equivalent of 13% of Nigeria’s total exports during that period going to India.
