Iveco to Deliver CNG Buses to Abidjan

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Public transportation in Cote d’Ivoire is going green as Italian firm Iveco will soon deliver 50 CNG powered buses from its Crealis range. The CNG buses will be used by the transport company of Abidjan, Sotra.

This is Iveco’s first venture into the African market.

A statement from the company said that the buses are part of a larger planned acquisition of 450 buses including 400 Crossway LE model, still fueled by natural gas. The 50 buses whose delivery date has not been announced, are 18 meters long and will serve the entire city of Abidjan while providing more comfort and user services.

“The conclusion of this contract once again highlights the excellence of our offering and our expertise in natural gas buses. It is also a victory for the entire natural gas industry, which enables us to meet the expectations of cities, Sylvain Blaise, VP of Iveco and in charge of Iveco Bus, stated.

In Abidjan, this new bus fleet will allow, among other things, the reduction of CO2 emissions by 10% to 15% and a level of particle emissions close to zero.
