Kenya’s state-run utility firm, KenGen has a new general director, Rebecca Miano. Miano is the first woman to hold this post in the company.
A lawyer by profession, she has been acting as general director since August 2017, after the departure of Albert Mugo. She was selected from 91 candidates.
“The Board is confident that Ms. Miano’s skills and experience during her 19 years in the company will help advance KenGen and position it as a leader in the energy sector. Joshua Choge, chairman of KenGen’s board of directors, said in a statement.
