Kenya’s Emesek-1 Well Fails to Find Hydrocarbons

Tullow Oil’s Emesek-1 well on Block 13T in Kenya’s North Lokichar basin failed to encounter hydrocarbons during drilling to a total depth of 3,000 meters. The well is now being plugged and abandoned.

The Emesek-1 well was drilled by the PR Marriott 46 rig. Following completion of operations, the rig will move to the South Lokichar basin to drill the Etom-2 well which is expected to spud in late November.
