According to Sir Sunny Oputa, the chief executive officer of Energy & Corporate Africa, “Africa has been recognized as a continent of great promise for hydrocarbon exploration and production. With a high potential and success rate in discoveries and reservoirs, the region is also endowed with significantly large number of onshore/offshore small and marginal fields. Majority of these fields that have been discovered remain abandoned without been developed. Many of such fields will still be discovered in the near future. It will also provide participants insight on why billions of barrels of marginal oil and gas fields, already discovered, will not be developed in the foreseeable future. It will address solutions on how these fields could be developed beyond the conventional method and also using unconventional technologies. The conference will touch on issues why companies will not pursue a great many hot prospects for exploration in onshore and deep water when the prospects look too small.
Oputa stated further that based on the grand success of last year’s Africa Small and Marginal Oil Fields Development Conference in London and the encouraging testimonies by companies and governments, this conference will continue to provide first hand information on the available small/marginal fields opportunities in Africa; highlight on the geological, technological, economics, geopolitical and management challenges confronting the development of those fields ranked as small or marginal and will proffer solutions through expert presentations and case studies. This conference amongst other things will showcase various technological, commercial, and project funding plans for the development of these fields. It will also offer a cozy environment for networking and relationship building among industry peers, decision makers and senior government officials.
The conference will showcase where the deals are and present opportunities for deal seekers, decision makers and fund providers to meet and make things happen.
Known for a focused dynamic market niche and best -providers in bringing governments, national, international oil companies, technological, finance and investment firms together to share knowledge, present opportunities and network for business optimization. Oputa, concluded by saying “we are excited to bring this conference which is a complete mix – a real deal that adds maximum value to your resources and reasons for attending a unique conference.”
