The government of Cote d’Ivoire awarded five new offshore blocks to Kosmos Energy and BP according to government spokesman, Bruno Koné. The blocks are CI-526, CI-602, CI-603, CI-707 and CI-708.
Under the terms of the agreement, state firm Petroci will retain 10% on each of these blocks.
The government announced previously that Tullow Oil was awarded blocks CI-521 and CI-522, located onshore near the country’s eastern border with Ghana where Tullow operates the Jubilee and TEN fields.
