Kosmos Expects Sell Down by Year-End

Tuesday, August 6, 2019

Kosmos Energy, in its half year results, said it expects to have a deal in place to sell down its stakes in projects in Mauritania and Senegal by the end of the year.

The assets offshore Mauritania and Senegal contain the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim gas development project.

Kosmos has a 30% stake in Senegal and 28% in Mauritania. In May, it said it had received interest in the projects leading to a formal process to reduce its interest.

“The previously announced process to sell down Kosmos’ interest in the broader Mauritania/Senegal region to 10 percent is ongoing and is targeting a transaction announcement by year end,” Kosmos said within its half-year results report.
