Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) and Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited (KPRL) signed a three-year lease agreement allowing KPC to use the facilities of KPRL for the Early Oil Pilot Scheme Project.
The Early Oil Pilot Scheme Project is a government initiative aimed at exploration and marketing of crude oil that will be placed on production by Tullow Oil and Africa Oil, ultimately making Kenya Africa’s next oil exporter.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter witnessed the signing of the agreement and praised both parties for agreeing to work together in order to elevate Kenya’s economic status.
Keter also asked that the two firms work to ensure the Early Oil Pilot Scheme begins as scheduled.
