Liberia’s leading importer of petroleum products, Srimex Oil & Gas Company, appointed Wadei Powell as its new CEO. The appointment comes at a time when the company is poised to take on future market opportunities and customer relation growth.
Powell, former VP of Administration & HR at Cellcom Liberia and General Services Manager at Firestone Liberia, is a seasoned leader with a proven record of taking organizations to the next level by realigning organizational systems and processes to match strategic business growth.
At a press conference announcing Powell’s appointment, outgoing CEO Musa Bility said the decision to turn the Liberian oil and gas giant over to Powell was not a walk in the park but a thorough vetting process that showed that she brings everything the company needs to move forward: credibility, integrity and productivity.
“I have no doubt that she [Wadei] will do far better than I did. I have no doubt that she will make Liberian women especially young women proud,” he stressed.
Bility will serve as Chairman and special advisor to the management team while he focuses more of his energies on cultivating the immense business development opportunities available to Srimex.
