A number of senior government officials and industry leaders from Libya are scheduled to meet with US representatives from the gas power industry in Washington DC at the end of February. During the meeting the Libyan delegates will be given an overview of modern power generation technology.
While in the US the delegates will also meet with manufacturers of the natural gas-fired power equipment, as well as US utility companies.
Representatives from the Ministry of Electricity, the National Oil Corp. (NOC), the General Electric Company of Libya (GECOL) and the North African country’s Privatization and Investment Board are to attend the eight-day event, hosted by the US Trade and Development Agency.
US firms providing power plant automation systems, as well as engineering firms and US government experts will also meet the Libyan delegates according to a Libya Herald report.
