The state-run oil company of the internationally recognized government in the eastern region of the country, NOC, has appointed boards for two new state-run oil subsidiaries. Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni’s government set up a new oil firm so that oil payments could be routed through it from foreign buyers.
The new NOC appointed the boards for two new state oil subsidiaries to be based in southern Libya, a statement by the eastern NOC said. One company will focus on exploration of oil and gas and a second on building a refinery.
