Libya’s NWD Plans New Strategy with NOC

A recent meeting between the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) of Libya and the National Oil Wells Drilling & Workover Company (NWD) was devoted to discussing the problems and difficulties faced by the drilling company. Included in the discussions was the impact a lack of budget is having on the company’s activity in the field of drilling and workover.

The need to develop a new business vision for NWD to enable it to achieve its objectives and compete in the labor market was the focus. NWD’s competencies in drilling and excavation qualify it to be competitive in the market and challenges hindering its progress will be the focus going forward.

The company’s officials explained that they are determined to develop a strategy aimed at absorbing the many requirements of the local market in line with the plans of the operation’s companies, improving and developing the company’s fleet of excavators, and entering the field of offshore operations in the near future.

The meeting was attended by the Members Board of Directors of the (NOC), Dr. Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, Ahmed Ammar, and Hussein Safar and from the (NWD) was attended by, the Chairman of the Management Committee, Abdul Moula Abufaid, members of the Management Committee, and a number of General Managers.
