Maintenance Shut-Downs in Libya

ENI’s JV in Libya with NOC, Mellitah Oil and Gas Company, said work has been suspended at  its complex due to the second phase of the the Bahr Essalam gas and condensate field project.

The company said in a statement that this stage of work will see the addition of 10 wells to increase natural gas supplies enough to cover local market demand.

The onshore Wafa gas field and offshore Sabratha platform have also been shut down for maintenance work. The shut downs have temporarily halted the supply of natural gas.

In addition to the news on the suspension of work from Mellitah, it was also revealed, this time by the chairman of NOC, Mustafa Sanallah, that meetings were taking place with officials from the Ras Lanuf oil and gas factories in the Libyan oil crescent region.

The meetings are regarding the preparedness for operating the two facilities in the district.

Sanallah and Naji Ekhfaf, the CEO of Ras Lanuf factories, discussed the technical issues facing these facilities before they go operational again. The two officials also discussed the maintenance work that is taking place at Ras Lanuf before the resumption of work.
