Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Maloney Metalcraft secured a $3 million contract for a project in Algeria. The contract, signed with Samsung Engineering, has Maloney Metalcraft designing and manufacturing a Glycol Regeneration Package for the Timimoun Field Development Project the southwestern portion of the North African country.

The contract is due for completion in March 2016.

The Glycol Regeneration Package is the main part of a gas dehydration system that prevents hydrate formation during the production process, reducing corrosion problems and protecting downstream equipment.

Austen Adams, managing director of Avingtrans’ Energy and Medical division, said: “The oil and gas industries are currently facing unprecedented challenges but securing this contract is welcome news for our business and recognizes the expertise and strong delivery record we’ve developed in the sector – both when it comes to designing performance critical components and delivering on those designs. The Glycol Regeneration Package forms part of the CPF at the site and will treat five Mega Standard Cubic Meters per day (MSm3/d) of raw gas.”

The Timimoun Field Development Project is a JV between Sonatrach, Total, and Cepsa. The non-conventional gas project covers 2,500 sq km and will ultimately include 40 wells, a gas gathering system, central gas processing facilities, and a connection to the export pipeline.  The development is expected to produce 1.6 billion cubic meters per year of natural gas over eight years.
