Mamba Flows Expected in 2024

Monday, March 18, 2019

Mozambique should see natural gas flows from the Mamba field in 2024 according to ENI CEO Claudio Descalzi. The news was revealed at the press conference following Descalzi’s presentation of ENI’s oil strategy for the next three years in Milan.

According to Descalzi, ExxonMobil is to take the FID after the summer.

“The Mamba project [which involves Portuguese oil company Galp] is managed by Exxon [consortium leader], we work on the upstream [oil and gas exploration and production] of the project, and Exxon should take the final investment decision after the summer,” Descalzi was quoted as saying in a Macaub report when asked by Lusa about the review that Mozambique’s government is doing as regards this offshore project in the Cabo Delgado province.
