Mart Resources and its partners on the Umusadege field in Nigeria, Midwestern Oil and Gas Co. Plc (operator) and SunTrust Oil Co. Ltd. issued their production update for the month of September and other operations recently.
During September, the Umusadege field produced an average of 8,293 bpd of oil. Umusadege field downtime during September was approximately 8.5 days due mainly to maintenance and repairs on the export pipeline performed by the pipeline operator, Nigerian Agip Oil Co. Ltd. (NAOC). The average field production based on producing days was 11,674 bpd in September.
According to Mart, total net crude deliveries into the export pipeline from the Umusadege field for September was approximately 261,200 barrels before pipeline losses. Pipeline and export facility losses have averaged 23.5% for the first eight months of 2013, while September pipeline and export facility losses have not yet been reported by NAOC.
As previously announced, the UMU-11 well reached a final total drilling depth of approximately 8,910 ft on September 27. The primary objectives of the UMU-11 well are to appraise and produce the proven oil reservoirs encountered but not completed in the UMU-9 and UMU-10 wells. Target sands for flow testing have been identified and preparation to perforate and test the IX, XIIb and XIIIb zones is underway. The completion and testing of UMU-11 is expected to take approximately 30 days.
In addition Mart said that negotiations are nearing conclusion with the local communities for right of way for the last five km of the first section of the Umugini pipeline. It is expected that the pipeline contractor will re-mobilize and restart construction operations after current rains diminish and flooding recedes, which is anticipated by December. Once final government approval is received for the second phase of the project and weather conditions permit, construction of the second section of the Umugini pipeline using a second construction crew will commence. It is expected that pipeline construction will be completed in H1 2014.
