Maurel & Prom Sees Gabon Renewals

Orrick Rambaud Martel advised Maurel & Prom on the renewal of its seven exclusive exploitation and development licenses in Gabon covering 6,100 km and on the renegotiation of the related PSC with the Gabonese government.

The government of Gabon and Maurel & Prom concluded a new PSC, Ezanga, which replaces the previous Omoueyi PSC. The new contract meets the development objectives of the Gabonese oil and gas sector while protecting, for an additional 20-year period, Maurel & Prom’s rights to assets that represent 85% of the value of the company.

Maurel & Prom was advised by general counsel Duncan Williams and by Orrick’s Olivier Mélédo and Gabin Gabas.
