In Libya a manager from Mellitah Oil,the NOC/ENI JV company, was kidnapped. Yousef al-Shoumani, a member of the firm’s administrative management team, was taken on June 1.
Mellitah operates a complex in western Libya exporting oil and gas as well as the Wafa and El Feel oil fields.
Staff read out statements denouncing the kidnapping of their co-worker on Libya’s al-Nabaa television. It is unclear who is behind the kidnapping of al-Shoumani but the company’s staff is demanding better protection for workers.
