Release

The new Metrix Digital Proximity System (DPS) combines the performance of a fully API 670-compliant proximity measurement system with the flexibility of digital configurability. The Metrix DPS allows a user to configure a 200 mV/mil (8mV/μm) linear output for almost any combination of probe target material, system length, and manufacturer for a proximity probe thrust, radial vibration or speed system. Our system allows you to field-configure, or customize, the proximity probe driver or transmitter for a wide range of probe types, cable lengths and target materials from most manufacturers.

The new MX8030 Proximity Probe and MX8031 Extension Cable System comes standard with VibeLock and Triaxial Cables.

The VibeLock feature provides a secure finger tight no slip connection between the probe cable connector and the extension cable connector. As one tightens the cable connectors, you can feel the ratcheting mechanism work until the connection is finger tight. No special tools are required.

The Triaxial Cable provides an extra protective barrier for the proximity probe cable system. The extra layer of protection helps prevent excessive wear during installation and in high vibration areas, as compared to standard coaxial cables.

Metrix has a full line of Proximity Probe installation accessories. We have added two new installation products:

The new 5497PM Metrix Reverse Probe Mount system allows you to gap the proximity probe once, so that it can be easily taken out and put back in and obtain the same probe gap. The gap voltage should always be checked, but you will find that the Metrix Reverse Probe Mount provides very repeatable results. The 5497PM can be purchased in a variety of configurations.

The new MX2040 Dynamic Signal Checker is an AC sinusoidal driver for loop checking proximity probe systems. It has a vibration range from 0 to 6 mils pp (0 to 150 μm pp), with four preset settings to ensure what the probe is measuring is reported on your monitoring system and or control system – giving you confidence the entire system is working.
