Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb have taken credit for an attack on three hotels in Cote d’Ivoire. Gunmen killed 16 people in the attacks on three hotels in the beach resort city of Grand-Bassam on March 13.
According to reports out of the country of the 16 dead, 14 were civilians and two were soldiers. Six of the attackers were also killed.
Reports on the attack at the time of writing were sketchy, however several government’s weighed in including France and the US calling the attacks “cowardly.”
