Japan’s Mitsui & Co Ltd., one of the partners offshore Mozambique, said it will take the FID on Mozambique’s LNG project by the end of March. The FID was initially expected by the end of this year.
Mitsui is part of the Anadarko-led group that is developing the massive natural gas resources discovered on Offshore Area 1.
The Japanese company’s CFO Keigo Matsubara was cited by Reuters as saying the negotiations with the local government on various conditions were taking time.
