Sonatrach, Algeria’s state-run oil and gas firm, has a new chief executive, Abdelmoumen Ould Kadour, according to a statement by the Ministry of Energy and Mining.
Kadour replaces Amine Mazouzi after less than two years in the position. The Ministry gave no reason for the change.
Ould Kadour is an engineer who graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and headed US-Algerian firm Brown & Root Condor in the 1990s.
