Libya has a new rebel group threatening to block crude flows to export terminals. The new group goes by the cumbersome name of the Supreme Council for Oil, Gas, and Water Resources in the Oasis and the Basin.
The group has declared its support for the Tobruk-based House of Representatives, which has not recognized the UN-backed government and the Libyan National Army, which controls the export terminals. It has declared that the Government of National Accord (GNA) is unconstitutional and does not want oil revenues flowing into the GNA coffers.
