President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in his new cabinet, which includes a shake up in the petroleum sector. Buhari has named a new minister of state for petroleum, Timipre Silva.
Silva will take over for Emmanuel Kachikwu, the former ExxonMobil exec.
Silva is a former governor of Bayelsa state in the southern Niger Delta oil production region and has a great understanding of the industry’s inner workings and needs of the communities.
