President João Lourenço has reappointed Pedro Azevedo Diamantino as Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas of the Republic of Angola. Diamantino was initially appointed in September 2017 and went on to enact a number of reforms in the country’s oil and gas sector.

Under his leadership, new frameworks for marginal fields development, gas developments, licensing rounds and domestic and capacity building were realized, as well as new partnerships with oil majors, spurring a resurgence of investment in the country’s petroleum sector.
