BG Group and its partners on Kenyan Blocks L10A and L10B in the Lamu Basin will shoot more seismic on the acreage. Pancontinental Oil & Gas, one of BG’s partners, reported that a total of 2,280 sq km of additional 3D seismic will be shot on the western portion of the license areas.
The new seismic survey follows the 2D and 3D seismic surveys completed in early-2012.
The new 3D survey will cover a cluster of large Miocene reefs and the large Crombec Lead. These leads are possible drilling targets and the partners have scheduled the new 3D survey to start as soon as possible, allowing for any equipment or planning constraints.
The new 3D survey is planned to commence in November 2012. Full interpreted results are expected Q2 2013.
