Kosmos Energy and BP should be drilling the Manatee-1 well offshore Mauritania on Block C-8 in late-2017 or early-2018. The Manatee-1 is located in the northern part of the block, not far from the current well being drilled, the Hippocampe well.
The Manatee-1 will be the third well in a four-well drilling program in the Senegal-Mauritanian Basin that started last March with the Yakaar well on the Cayar Offshore Deep block of the Greater Tortue complex. The well will be drilled using the Atwood Achiever. After it is complete the rig will move to offshore Senegal to drill the Reguin Tigre-1.
Kosmos and BP are currently closing in on their targeted depth with the Hippocampe and the results will be reported shortly after.
