Nigeria’s latest militant group making the news and wreaking havoc on the county’s production totals, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), had its Twitter account suspended on July 4. The suspension of the account cuts off the NDA’s main source of publicizing its attacks and threats against the oil sector.
“This account has been suspended,” said a statement on the account. “We do not comment on individual accounts for privacy and security reasons,” said a spokesman for the social media site when asked by Reuters about the reasons for the suspension.
