Addax Petroleum Nigeria Ltd. has received its platform for the Adanga North. The Swiss firm contracted indigenous fabrication firm Brown Rocks Nigeria Ltd. for the production platform. The multi-million dollar platform named “Adanga North B Well Head Platform Development ADN-B-WHP” has been taken offshore and is currently being installed.

According to a report from the Daily Independent Brown’s scope of the project covered engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) as well as fabrication of topside structures apart from associated piping and pipe supports, installation of topside Launcher deck, Main Deck, and the Valve Access deck. The indigenous firm also provided the assemblage of the system piping and equipment integration, Hydro test of installed piping system, load-out and offshore hook-up in accordance with government policy.
Addax said in a contractors appraisal report “So far, they (Brown Rocks) have not failed us. They have performed within our expectations and have met our expected target. This is the first of its kind, that a local company is building a platform within one year in Calabar. The project started in November, 2007 and now it is already offshore for installations. Technically, it has met our expectations.”
