Oil Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke’s sister, Osiyo Agama, was kidnapped in Port Harcourt on October 21. The kidnappers struck in the Old Port Harcourt /Leventis area of the city.
Today it was reported that Agama had been rescued during a joint operation by the police, military and state security service,” Ahmad Muhammad, a Rivers state police spokesman said. Muhammad added that two suspects had been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
Agama is just one of a number of targets in the Niger Delta over the past couple of weeks.
