Oil workers in agencies under the Ministry of Petroleum Resources have suspended their strike after reaching a deal with the government. The oil workers had initiated a three-day warning strike over the failure of government to pay their salaries over the past three months.
According to reports, a deal was reached during a meeting between executive members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), and the Accountant-General, which will see the Federal Government immediately pay the oil workers the three months salaries owed them.
