In Nigeria the troops of the 4thBrigade in Benin, as part of the on-going Operation Crocodile Smile II, arrested those on a barge laden with 456,600 liters of suspected illegally refined automated gas oil (AGO), according to a statement issued by Army Public Relations.
The arrests were part of the army’s attempt to stymy illegal oil bunkering and other forms of vandalism. The troops intercepted a tug boat pushing a barge laden with the suspected illegally refined petroleum product. The eight out of the barge’s 12 compartments were filled with the illegally refined AGO.
