Nigerian Village Takes ENI to Court

A Nigerian village has filed a lawsuit against ENI in a Milan, Italy court in regards to an oil pipeline explosion in 2010. The Niger Delta village of Ikebiri is asking the Italian firm for $2.2 million in damages and a commitment to clean up the area.

According to the villagers the pipeline explosion caused an environmental disaster. ENI maintains that clean-up operations have already been carried out in the affected areas.
