NNPC Awards Pipeline Contracts

Sunday, April 8, 2018

NNPC, Nigeria’s state-run oil company, revealed in a statement that it has awarded two pipeline construction contracts. The contracts went to two indigenous firms, Oando Plc and OilServe, and a consortium of China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau and Brentex.

Oando’s first contract is for a 200 km line that is part of a longer, 614 km line linking Ajaokuta, Kaduna and Kano. The second line is also 200 km long, said the statement.

These two contracts are part of a package of three with a projected total value of $ 2.8 billion. The release of the NNPC states that the award of the last contract will be finalized in the coming weeks.

Once these lines are built, they will allow a better supply of natural gas to the local market and possibly a better supply to the West African gas pipeline (WAGP).
