Ghanaians will be happy to learn that according to the government the country’s electricity supply deficit has been fixed. The supply deficit has routinely caused frequent blackouts which have hurt businesses and regular consumers alike.
The Ministry of Power made the announcement of the power fix in a statement. President John Mahama vowed earlier this year to fix the power crisis and his Power Minister, Kwabena Donkor, had previously said he would resign if power cuts persisted into 2016.
Helping Ghana meet its power needs and avert the supply deficit was the arrival of power barges off the coast of the country. Ghana saw a boost in its power generation when the first of two KarPower barges began producing power offshore the country.
