NOC Calls for Safe Return of Head of Oil Workers Union

Tuesday, May 7, 2019

The head of Libya’s Oil Workers Union, Saad Dinar, was taken from his home on April 29. A statement on the NOC website called for the safe return of Dinar.

NOC said it was “gravely concerned about Dinar’s wellbeing. He has not been seen since his seizure”. The statement went on to say that the state-run firm would exhaust all legal means, domestically and internationally to aid his safe return.

NOC called for anyone with information relating to this incident to contact the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Mustafa Sanalla, NOC chairman, said in a statement on the website “Mr Dinar has always represented the best interest of Libyan oil and gas workers as the head of their union. NOC stands firmly with Mr Dinar’s family and colleagues who want to see him safely returned.”
