OER Comments on Pipeline Explosion

Oando Energy Resources Inc. (OER) confirmed that it received notice of the July 9 explosion on the Tebidaba-Clough Creek Line from operator Nigerian Agip Oil Company Ltd. JV (NAOC JV). OER owns 20% of the NAOC JV.

The incident resulted in the unfortunate death of 13 members of the inspection and repair team. The fire occurred away from the repair point and pipeline, igniting some of the spilled hydrocarbons.

Investigations into the immediate and remote causes of the fire are ongoing by NAOC and the company expressed its deepest condolences to the families involved in this tragic accident.
