Wednesday, December 12, 2018

Gabon’s oil union has launched another strike. The union began the strike on December 11 across all facilities after French firm Total began laying off its workers.
The union, ONEP, said only four of six fired workers had been reinstated despite demands made to Total that they all have their employment reinstated.
This is not the first strike against Total launched by the union this year. In July ONEP launched a 15-day strike against the French firm. The union began a 15-day strike after Total failed to meet its demands for higher pay and other issues t, the union said in a statement.
