ONGC Videsh Expects Debt Repayment from Sudan

Monday, October 16, 2017

ONGC Videsh, the overseas arm of India’s state-run oil and gas firm ONGC, is looking for Sudan to pay its debt to the company. According to Narendra Kumar Verma, CEO of ONGC Videsh, he expects the Sudanese government to pay a $400 million debt shortly.

The statement was made at the India Energy Forum that was held in New Delhi. The debt arose out of the construction, by ONGC Videsh, of pipelines on behalf of the government and the sale of crude oil in Khartoum.
