In Libya, reports have the Ubari gas-fired plant conducting operational tests on the turbines. The tests are in preparation of bringing the plant onstream, according to local media reports.
The tests commenced after the start of pumping oil from the Sharara oilfield to the power plant.
The General Electricity Company, Libya’s state-run utility, is expecting the Ubari gas-fired power plant to be ready for service by July. The bringing of the Ubari plant onstream will aid in offsetting Libya’s shortfall of power.
