OPL 245 Off US DOJ Radar

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has closed its investigation of Shell over a 2011 deal for a Nigerian offshore block, OPL 245.

While the US DOJ might have closed its case, Shell, along with Italian firm ENI, are both still on trial in Milan on graft allegations concerning the acquisition of OPL 245.

ENI recently reported that the DOJ has closed its investigation into alleged corruption in the OPL 245 deal as well as a separate case in Algeria.
