Lekoil issued an update on its activities in Nigeria, specifically its operations on the Otakikpo field in Nigeria. The company revealed that in addition to completing the Otkikpo-002 well, it has completed the Otakikpo-003 well and released the rig.
With the completion of the Otakikpo-003 complete, the company now has four production strings ready for production.
Onshore facilities are complete while welding and installation work continues to progress on the offshore pipeline. Lekoil expects commercial production to begin at Otakikpo in the next few weeks.
It is targeting production of 10,000 bpd by year-end 2016 and will then proceed to phase two of the Otakikpo Field Development Plan, bringing aggregate production to a target of 20,000 bpd by the end of 2017, subject to requisite approvals.
