Perenco Congo has confirmed that the TCHNEM1-01 well it operates has discovered oil in the pre-salt exploration well of the Tchibeli Nord-Est field on the PNGF Sud license.
Good oil and gas showings were recorded, and a 75-meter oil column was identified on the logs. A test of these areas produced 2,000 bopd before further testing was needed to help confirm the volumes.
This exploration discovery is a potential opening for Perenco in the pre-salt in Congo, along with a number of other “Vandji” tracks identified on the company’s acreage.
Perenco states that “the successful drilling of this complex well is a testament to the perseverance and commitment of our teams.”
