Petrobel to Boost Production

Belayim Petroleum Company, or Petrobel, a JV between ENI and the EGPC, plans to boost production in Egypt during the coming fiscal year (2018/2019). According to Atef Hassan, head of the JV company, Petrobel is targeting 358,000 boepd on average from its assets.

“The company targets drilling two exploratory wells in the Nile Delta and the Gulf of Suez, and continuing exploration work at its promising concessions,” Hassan said during the company’s general assembly chaired by Tarek El Molla, Egypt’s Petroleum Minister.

In addition to its production targets, Petrobel will complete the drilling of five wells on the South-West Baltim gas field over the period and possibly a further 20 oil wells on the Abu Redees concession. Development operations began during Egypt’s fiscal year 2017/2018 on the gas field.
