Petronas Makes Discovery in Gabon

PC Gabon Upstream SA (PCGUSA), a subsidiary of Malaysian firm Petronas, made a new discovery offshore Gabon. The company drilled an oil and gas discovery on Block F14 (Likuale), located in south Gabon.

The well, the Boudji-1 exploration well, encountered both oil and gas while drilling. The ultra-deepwater exploration well, drilled in water depths of 2,800 meters, encountered 90 meters of gross high-quality hydrocarbon-bearing pre-salt sands.

PCGUSA is the operator for Block F14 (Likuale), with Australia’s Woodside holding a 30% participating interest.
