The Gulf of Guinea saw another pirate attack and kidnapping. Pirates attacked an oil products tanker off the coast of Nigeria and kidnapped its captain and an engineer. The attack took place on December 16.
The MT Althea with 18 crew members on board was attacked by a group of 10 pirates, Greek coast guard officials said. The pirates only took the two men and did not touch the oil cargo or injure anyone in the attack.
